Two cultural experiences

in Cuba’s eastern region

T he eastern region of the Cuban archipelago is

an essential destination for those seeking to
discover the true essence of the country. The
new air connections that are being announced open
the possibilities for travelers to arrive directly and
enjoy what Admiral Christopher Columbus called “the
most beautiful land that human eyes have ever seen.”
We present two experiences that the Cubanacán
group proposes on its official website, where it
is also possible to make reservations. The first
excursion takes place in the province of Holguín,
it is called Gibara Colonial and lasts two hours; it
invites travelers to take a panoramic tour of the
main streets of this old colonial town, bordering its
beautiful bay. Visits will include well-known places
such as: Las Madres Park; the old Plaza de Armas,
in the center of which stands a miniature replica of
the Statue of Liberty; the Plaza de la Cultura and
the adjacent institution, headquarters of traditional
activities and events.
