TOURISM AND HEALTH
The medical work is complemented
by the Nursing service, which has an
accompaniment system, caregivers and
occupational therapists. Psychological support
is also offered by specialists and the medical
transportation service, with medical or nursing
accompaniment.
The Clinic’s programs available to travelers
include different types of check-ups: basic
check-ups, preventive check-ups for elderly
or hypertensive patients, and complementary
cardiovascular, pediatric and comprehensive
outpatient medicine tests. This is the only
Cuban tourist destination whose Clinic offers
Hemodialysis service for travelers with chronic
kidney failure.
The Varadero Clinic has updated its health
protocols, to adapt them to the new
international health reality and to the
demands of the Cuban Ministry of Public
Health. Travelers who test positive for
COVID-19 upon entering the country will be
referred to the Hotel Hospital, in Varadero
itself, and the Clinic will carry out all the
necessary complementary tests to determine
their health status. Thus, if visitors have a
chronic disease, which means risks to their
life due to the virus, they will be placed under
personalized medical surveillance. The clinic
will offer this service to all travelers who arrive
in Varadero, even if they cannot assume the
costs, since the health of patients and the
protection of other guests and hotel service
personnel is a priority for the Sun Clinics.
In other important tourist destinations in
Cuba, such as Jardines del Rey, the Sun Clinics
guarantee safe vacations in the event of any
health eventuality.
The Empresa Comercializadora de Servicios
Médicos S.A. celebrates its first 10 years of
success, in full growth and diversification of
its professional services. It is currently one of
the pillars that endorse Cuba as a safe tourist
destination in the Caribbean.
